Thanks for stopping by PracticalPaleolithic.com! I’m Adam Farrah, the site’s creator.
PracticalPaleolithic.com is a different kind of site. I know there are plenty Paleolithic diet and functional training sites and resources around – and some of them are outstanding. There are plenty of theorists who continually advance great training techniques, systems and dietary knowledge too.
But I’ve found that there’s a gap between theory and implementation. My goal for PracticalPaleolithic.com is to bridge that gap by providing information, resources, commentary and the hard work of research and synthesis to get to the essence of what works and what will make YOU healthier, stronger and better informed.
I believe that there are more similarities than differences between all of us who love Physical Culture in whatever form it takes for each of us. I’ve seen so many connections and crossovers within so many different – seemingly unrelated – fields and disciplines and my goal is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge between us all.
Knowledge is great, but the practical implementation of that knowledge is where results happen. There’s more than enough debate about what to do and what not to do. Let’s get to what works. What’s practical…

Hi Adam,
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your paper “Making the Paleolithic Diet Work for You”. After 33 years of vegetarianism I have had to make some changes, of course. So out go the pastries and sweets and in comes the the chicken and fish. I doubt mammals will ever get into my diet, I just can’t…
I love your unemotional synthesis of the information available, the way you distilled it by common factors, and weeded out the hype. Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate it a lot.
Many Blessings,
Kimberly Rousseau, D.C.
That means so much to me, Kimberly! Thank you for the great feedback!
Let me know if I can help you out with anything in the future.
Adam
Looking forward to your new book. I hope it clarifies some questions I have about including dairy in my diet. I like to eat plain greek yogurt with almonds and granola b/c of the fiber & probiotics which are great for good digestive health (or so I’ve been told). THere’s a lot of confusing info out there. Jackie Warner, for ex., is not a big fan of milk b/c of the lactose but reccomeds eating cottage cheese b/c of caessin, which is a slow digesting protein – makes sense, no? I have a major issue w/ vegetables. I’ve tried them in several different ways but I just don’t like the taste so it’s always been hard for me to incorporate them in my diet. I get tired of eating lettuce, tomatos & cucumbers (the only ones I like) all the time. How about beans & garbanzos, which I love, are those ok?
Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks, Irene! Did you get my free downloads yet? My original eBook has a lot about dairy in it…

Hi Adam!
I have just been diagnosed with 3 big food intolerences, gluten, dairy and egg. For awhile now Ive just been saying, screw it, but after seeing a nutritional consultant, and having been plateau’d on my weight loss for awhile now, I decided to take the plunge and make a change. A good friend suggested the paleo diet because it basically embraces those 3 intolerances already. Do you have any tips? Is there anywhere I can get a list of yes and no foods? Im really a newb when it comes to this. I loved your post about perfectionism, it really hit home. Especially the part where you were saying about cheating once, and the whole day going to crap…lol. So any tips you may have that would be terrific! Thanks again!
Hey Val!
I’ve got the same intolerance for the most part – plus a few more! I’ve been on a 100% strict Paleo diet for a while now and I can tell you that 4-6 weeks in you REALLY start to feel better. And, the longer you stay 100% the better you feel. My mood (depression and/or anxiety) is drastically affected by just about any dairy at this point and some grains. Not to mention my digestion…
I’ll give you some links below to check out and I’ll also HIGHLY recommend my book “The Paleo Dieter’s Missing Link.” Not because I want to sell you a book, but because it details a lot of my personal struggle and trial and error process. That will likely give you a lot of encouragement and an understanding of the process you need to follow to get this diet down and deal with your own sensitivities. There’s some free stuff and a book preview at the top right also.
Drop me an email with specific questions as they come up!
