OK, everyone! It’s early Sunday morning and some cool stuff is already happening on the SINS Facebook Page! Today we hammered out the start of something that has the potential to be seriously awesome. We’ve put together the SINS Body Transformation Blog Challenge (and, no, we didn’t spend a lot of time working on the name
). The point was, to do an “Open Source” body transformation challenge that’s fun and motivating and creates support for everyone involved with SINS. Also, Wild Gorillaman and Team Gorilla have stepped up and gotten involved – so we’ll be seeing a lot of the participants in the Team Gorilla updates that we all know and love.
The “Rules” are Simple and HIGHLY Open to YOUR Interpretation and Implementation:
- Have a blog or start one – blogger.com or wordpress.com are two places that will give you a free blog if you don’t have one
- Write an initial blog post saying you’re going to make the best progress of your life, when you’re starting, goals, before pics (if you want) training and anything else you want
- Post that blog to the SINS Facebook Page as a NEW status update
- Blog at any frequency you like to stay motivated – daily, weekly, bi-weekly, etc. and post those to the SINS Facebook page as a NEW status update
- Create a final blog post with before and after pics, commentary, measurements and anything else you like and post THAT to SINS on Facebook as a NEW status
That’s pretty much it!
- It’s open to women AND men
- You can train any way you like – regular gym, CrossFit, powerlifting, kettlebells, endurance athlete
- Eat any way you want – Paleo, Zone, high carb, vegetarian
- You have to take $2000 a month worth of SINS and Team Gorilla Brand supplements - that’s a JOKE! We don’t make supplements
It’s All About Community and “Open Source”
Our hope is that the SINS community – that’s YOU – will take this and run with it and adapt it to their needs. If you’re starting a Paleo Challenge at your box, just blog it and use that. If you’re training for an event, use that. Use whatever YOU want. This is about creating support and getting everyone motivated and involved! Do what works FOR YOU. There’s no real time-frame here, but I’m thinking in the 6 month range for MYSELF. Others are doing 30 days, 6 weeks, etc. Use this as an opportunity to stay motivated and on track with what YOU’RE doing. If you need some encouragement, here are some body transformations to get you motivated!
The point is to put some positive pressure on yourself, interact with the community and get some support and encouragement. Summer is getting CLOSER! Let’s be in the best shape of our lives for this one! If you need help with goals this will help. Other than that – LET’S GET TO IT!

What are the start and finish dates?
It’s all open, Alix. Some are starting right away, some have already started some are starting later. I’m going to start this week and “finish” in about 6 months. Others are doing 30 days, 60 days, etc. It’s whatever you want to do. My hope is, it just sort of keeps going with new people starting, others finishing, people doing a second one, etc..

So, respectful question. Considering that the intrinsic point of this movement (or so I thought) is to draw the focus away from our body shape and towards our strength, why would you guys choose make your first group/SINS sponsored challenge a focus on Body Transformation? Why not make a challenge based around setting training goals for yourself and hitting them and seeing what happens to your body on the way?
Meghan, I think “Body Transformation” includes training goals, building strength creating better health, etc. This is an open invitation for men and women to do whatever they want as a transformation and blog about it any way they want. We kept it as broad and undefined as possible. If you want to set training goals and blog strictly about training that’s perfect. It’s up to anyone who gets involved how they want to go about it.

Okay Adam, you’ve inspired me to do it. I’ve been thinking about going “grainless” which is about as close to paleo as I can get right now, for 30 days and see what happens to my body. I need to do a bit more research because I am worried about what the extra fat that I will consume will do to my body if I slip. But I haven’t had any grains today and so far I’m still standing.
I just started Phase II of P90X and I’m very happy with that. I’m already doing some straight leg push ups (I know, I’m a big wimp for not trying them before) and I’m ready for a chin-up bar so I’m happy with that.
You’ll feel fine on no grains after a few days. Glad you were inspired!

Fabulous!!!!!!!!!!
too late to get added to the list?

ok, add me to the challenge! Can’t wait to see where I will be by June 4!
Hmm, have to think on this a bit. I’m not great at transformation challenges. I keep working out and not transforming much! lol
I’m staring Phase III of P90X on Monday – just 4 more weeks! Wow! It’s gone by fast! My arms are shaping up a bit, but I’m still seeing no improvement in my abs. It’s where I hold fat the longest!
After this, I’ll be starting Cathe Friedrich’s STS program w/Turbo Fire as my cardio. It’s 3 1/2 months, so I may join in when I start that rotation. Or, maybe I’ll just go ahead and start.
Hmmm . . . . still thinking . . . .
Go for it, Tricia! Just get started!
Adam
This is just amazing!
Thanks, Shanna!
Adam
Tricia you could blog about your P90X experience and about starting STS–TF. This seems to be a pretty lax challenge in what we can do. I’m not paleo so I won’t be posting about that but I will be posting about eating healthy and pushing myself and trying new things in my workouts.
My new blog is: http://www.mistransformation.wordpress.com
I’m throwing my hat into the ring..so to speak.

its time to make some changes to my mental game.
AWESOME! Great to have you on board, Lani!

Adam:
Thanks for doing this, I will be starting in a few weeks. Got some life challenges to get in order. I need something like this.
Tisha, I’m cleaning up some messes right now too. I’m planning to start really making progress this spring. My training now is laying a skill foundation for later when I can REALLY focus up.
Post your blog address when you’re ready!
Adam
AWESOME! Some really successful blogs started with this!
